In 2023 we began working with the arts community to rebuild a system that encourages collaborations among the organizations, the artists, and art businesses. The founding team called the program Greater Westmoreland Arts Coalition. Their well-thought-out Mission Statement is to collaboratively promote awareness of the arts and sustainability or art organizations in the Greater Westmoreland Region.
When local art organizations, gallery owners, and artists began to gather in 2018, it was because the arts community in our region needed to strengthen. We came together with the attitude that together is better, stronger. It was the first time in decades that the leaders gathered together for the sole purpose of collaborating. Since that meeting joint programs have been built, gracious arms have been extended to support one another.
The Greater Westmoreland Arts Coalition itself has had sixteen leaders participate in decisions on how best to step forward as a group. The first priority to publicly engage is to build an easy-to-use website that promotes artists and art organizations in our region. A website that serves all genres of the arts, an Art Trail Map that acts as a guide for anyone wanting to use an artist.
That is the goal of Greater Westmoreland Arts Coalition, a program that River Art Works hosts.
In what way does River Art Works’ goals contribute to the Coalition?
River Art Works positions itself as the premier hub for regional arts continued development. The mission is to give the region’s arts unparalleled accessibility and impact by building a reputation far beyond the two counties. To achieve this not only takes fostering a supportive local arts community, but centralized information, a way to bridge a disconnect due to lack for marketing resources. This AI driven platform centralizes critical ecosystem information that provides end user clients ease of connectivity and superb visibility of creative services offered by each member.
We supply an online ecosystem intelligence that locals and tourists can plug into at any time of the day to locate services, places, and events available in the Greater Westmoreland and Fayette regions. The art trail map will serve:
- art organizations,
- artists,
- art event organizations and
- art businesses
Increased Resource Connectivity
By centralizing resources across the region on the Greater Westmoreland Arts Coalition website, locals and visitors can easily access the exact artistic talents, places, and events within the arts community. Because the search on the trail map will include a broad range of services it will serve as a dynamic and comprehensive guide that’s continually updated with latest opportunities and information. This collaborative approach ensures that the platform serves as an authentic reflection of our region’s rich and diverse art landscape.
Oqulus Tech’s easy-to-use search functions allow Art Trail Map users discover relevant resources based on their particular needs, versus random “Google” search.
